Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is the television seen via the internet. The Internet Protocol (IP) is used to transfer the television content over the net. The IPTV is different because it is not delivered over a cable, satellite, or landline.  IPTV is different from the regular internet TV because IPTV has some standards.

IPTV can be live television that shows the current TV show. IPTV can also be called Time-Shifted television when it replays TV shows that happened few days back. Or even the last show is replayed again. There may be an existing catalog of videos and anyone can browse the catalog and play the video. This selective method is called Video On Demand. IPTV is not only restricted to television content it is also about delivering audio, text, graphics, data, and  video.

Around 83 million people are expected to watch IPTV in 2013. There is a delay in the widespread use of IPTV because of low broadband penetration. IPTV also needs high-quality wiring equipment in households. This is also one more reason that IPTV is not very prevalent these days.

So, if you want to really do a project in IPTV with appropriate guidance then walk-in to PLC technologies. Visit  IEEE Mobile Computing Projects. You can mail to info@plctechnologies.in or call 044420050/60.
